So, here comes the axeman! And his name is Jussi.

As you may have noticed we have had a new guy playing with us since last spring. Originally he joined as a tour guitarist, but things went so smoothly that the decision for what to do with him was very easy...we asked Jussi to join as a permanent member of Vanity Ink.

Lad took his time to think and came to the only right conclusion. Jussi said yes to Vanity Ink's proposal and is now an official member of the band and we are very proud to have him on board.

Vanity Ink came, played and had a good time in Italy. Thanks for everybody coming to see the shows and special thanks to our hosts Gianrico and Fiorenza. We would have been lost somewhere in Italy without you. Grazie mille!

Yeah, Vanity Ink found a new favorite country - Italy. Yeah, the band played there a 4-gig minitour last week and had a blast. All the venues were bigger than we expected (think Tavastia, think Nosturi in Helsinki Finland) and also many more people came to see us than we could imagine.

Yeah, the tour went fine although the first gig was the most difficult one. Jussi thought he blew his amp up on the first song but luckily it was just some electricity cables that were fucked up. And Juha Bandit thought he broke his guitar but we got it fixed before the next gig. And Miki hit Annabella in the face with his bass (by accident of course!) and the beautiful singer broke her tooth. Even that damage was smaller than expected but the Doctor recommends a visit to the dentist anyway. But the gig itself was a stormer and Rome seemed to love it too!

The next up was Prato. Very beautiful town and a strange but BIG venue. Vanities rocked the night away and consumed tons of 1 euro wines though the Italians kept warning us those would make us blind. I guess they didn't, at least not yet...

Then to Vicenza. Again one of the biggest places we've ever played in. Afterparties were probably the best of this tour. Our merchandise desk went crazy with people dancing, drinking and having fun! And grazie mille for all the free drinks, they never stopped coming!

The last party... I mean the gig was at Holiday Café in Novara. The band was perhaps a bit tired by now but still they kicked ass like there was no tomorrow. Such a shame it however came.

And did someone want to go home? No. We already miss Italy (and touring) so much. But we will be back. Stay tuned. Nothing can stop us now.

Long time since the last news flash but we're back with good news!

Vanity Ink is going to Italy in November! After touring in Finland and Bosnia-Hertzegowina it is time to go to Italy.

There will be two gigs as a special guest on Global Battle Of The Bands (Jailbreak, Rome and Keller, Prato), one supporting The Lovecrave at Totem (Vicenza) and the last a gig will be at Holiday Cafe (Novara).

A few more shows in Finland and then it's time to go abroad again. This time the Inkers will fly to rock Italy in November. And the album On Your Skin will also be released there. So stay tuned for more detailed news!

The band also played one cover gig in Helsinki. A few years ago we played Joan Jett & The Blackhearts but this time we went punk and rocked out some songs of the Finnish punk legend Pelle Miljoona. Can you imagine how much fun was that?!

Vanity Ink is going to Bosnia and Herzegowina!! We're playing couple of gigs there in the mid-June. The road trip is a part of Bridges to Balkan project and also the Bosna-Faces festival held in Banovic.

We don't know anything about the country but I guess we'll learn as we get there. Head on to the unknown!
Be prepared Bosnia and Herzegowina, we will rock you! :)

Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it? No news don't mean nothing has happened. Vanity Ink's been busy going around Finland jumping on tables - literally getting on your skin and in your face.

As some of you may have read on our myspace site from now on we've got a new guy playing rhythm guitar on gigs. JP Kola stepped aside for his own request. You might find him shortly in Milano and then in Paris. No hard feelings for this lovely guy. We thank him for the bottom of our hearts and wish him all the best in the future. The guy did a great job and spent about a year in this rollercoaster.

Mmm, but about the new guy. He's called Jussi Kukkoniemi. He's nice, cool, young and crazy enough to hang with us. Strange thing is that he's from Tampere but I think we can live with it. And did I mention that he can play guitar too! Jussi's first show will be in two weeks at House Of Rock in Kouvola. I hope you all give him a nice warm welcome! We already have...

Vanity Ink's also starting to spread its wings abroad. No confirmed gig dates yet but the band will be featured on some compilation albums. Check out the next issue of Classic Rock Magazine for instance. And then there's at least two more; Bubblegum Slut Fanzine compilation cd in the UK and Riot On Sunset: Vol 2 - Soundtrack to the Underground cd released by 272 Records in the States. Watch out you foreigners, we're getting also on your skin - any day now.

And the final piece of news this time is that our Turku show on April 20th at Vimma will be broadcasted live on the internet. (By the way it's an all ages show so all you teens, come one come all!) You can watch it by clicking here. Unfortunately we don't know the exact showtime yet but the event will start at 6 pm (cet). We'll report more info as soon as we know something.

Today is THE day. The day the first full-length Vanity Ink album hits the stores. It's titled On Your Skin and it kicks your butt big time! What are you waiting for? You know what to do... Go and buy it!
